Y'know, Bash, Dash, Busybox Ash, those kind of shells. They're mostly always POSIX compliant. tcsh is not.

Pros
Pro Highly portable
POSIX-compliant scripts are the de-facto standard for portability in shell scripting through the *NIX ecosystems, able to be used on a variety of shells on UNIX, Linux and the BSD derivatives. Learning to eschew the built-ins and syntactic sugar provided by other, more popular shells and remain within the definitions of the POSIX standard teaches many fundamental lessons of good software development that can be applied to almost any situation in other coding languages.
